Mission
BCforward’s mission is to add value to its clients through its business solutions services
History
BCforward is one of Indianapolis’ largest employers and the largest IT services firm based in Indiana. Co-founder and CEO, Justin Christian, started the company along with his friend and old colleague, Tony Bucher, in 1998. Christian had just graduated from DePuaw University with a BA in Computer Science and was working as a Systems Analyst at Eli Lilly. Bucher, a graduate of Purdue University, was working as a Management Consultant at Price Waterhouse in Indianapolis.
Both Christian and Bucher were unabashed basketball fans and bonded early on through their shared love of the sport. This friendship turned into a nascent business partnership when the pair tried their hand at launching some businesses.
BCforward was one of the business ideas that found success. Buchner and Christian saw an opportunity to establish a regional consulting company, as no dominant player existed in that sector in Indiana. With the vision of offering affordable IT consulting services and becoming major player in Indiana and the Midwest, BCforward was launched as Bucher and Christian Consulting, Inc. in 1998.
With no venture capital funding, the company grew and within a decade established itself as the largest IT services firm in that region. In 2004, both Co-Founders were named as the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40.
In 2008, Tony Bucher decided to leave the company. By this Buchner and Christian had an annual revenue of $55 million and big name clients such as Proctor & Gamble, Eli Lilly and the Department of Defense. It had opened offices in Cincinnati, Celeveland, Washington D.C. and St Petersburg, Russia.
In 2009, the company officially changed its name to BCforward and announced a major expansion, with the goal of adding 200 employees by 2012. In 2015, the company acquired another major IT Consulting Firm, Global Networkers Inc. The company today employs over 5,000 people and has a presence in Canada, Russia and India.
