In 1998 Indegene was founded in India by Dr. Rajesh Nair and four of his colleagues: Manish Gupta, Gaurav Kapoor, Anand Kiran, and Dr. Sanjay Parikh. In the early 2000s Indegene acquired its first company, Medsn -- a provider of medical education solutions. Its name was later changed to Indegene Pharmaceutical Solutions. In 2006 Indegene bought MedCases, a continuing medical education firm. In 2009, it signed a master service agreement with six of hte top 10 pharma firms worldwide. By 2015 it had over 1,600 employees.
