Mission

Infinite seeks to increase the efficiency and reliability of its clients’s information technology and software systems, providing a range of software solution, platforms, and consulting services.

Founding story

Infinite was founded in 1999 by Sanjay Govil, the Company’s current Chairman. It received early funding from White Rock investments, and focused initially on providing information technology solutions and support services to clients operating within the telecommunications sector.

The Company quickly expanded its operations, first into the US, and latterly into the UK, China and Malaysia, and diversified its service offerings to include solutions tailored to companies across industries including healthcare, media, and banking and financial services.

In 2010 Infinite went public with a dual listing on the Bombay Stock exchange and India’s National Stock Exchange with an initial public offering of 11,503,000 equity shares priced at INR 10 each. The Company’s public listing was followed by a period of growth, with Infinite making several strategic acquisitions, further expanding its operations and service offerings.

Infinite is among the leading providers of software and information technology services in the world, with a particular presence in the US where it serves several Fortune 1000 companies. Infinite continues to trade shares publicly, and has a full market capitalisation of INR 9.14 billion (approximately $134.06 million)

Customer Segments

Infinite provides a range of software solutions and information technology services, including business technology and mobile messaging solutions, to a diverse commercial client base. The Company’s customers can be organised broadly into the following industries:

  • Healthcare, including healthcare providers, managed care organisations, pharmaceutical companies, and government health organisations;
  • Banking and Financial Services, including retail and commercial banking institutions, insurance companies, capital markets businesses, and financial advisors and wealth management firms;
  • Technology and Telecommunications, including telecommunications providers, wireless network carriers, and original equipment manufacturers; and
  • Media and Publishing, including online and digital media agencies, broadcast media companies, and print media businesses.

While Infinite is based in India, its largest geographic market is the Americas, notably the US, where its serves a range of commercial clients. The Company also serves a domestic client base in India, as well as customers across Europe and Asia Pacific.

Channels

Infinite operates a website at www.infinite.com, through which it provides information on its various services and solutions, target industries, software platforms, and corporate activities. Despite its online presence, the Company does not operate an online sales channel. Customers can, however, register an interest in the Company’s services through an online contact form.

Infinite makes its sales through its in-house direct sales force, which deals directly with clients. The Company’s sales personnel operate out of its international network of sales and administrative offices across India, the US, Asia Pacific, and Europe, including locations in China, Malaysia, the UK, and Germany.

Infinite additionally provides services and solutions in international markets through subsidiaries, agents, and authorised representatives, particularly in jurisdictions where the Company is not itself well served.

Customer Relationships

Infinite does not provide services or solutions to its customers on a self-service basis. Many of the Company’s software solutions, however, can be accessed and utilised independently by clients after purchases have been completed.

Infinite makes its sales through its direct sales personnel, who consult closely with clients in order to establish their individual needs and circumstances, tailoring their offerings on a case-by-case basis. The Company’s services are provided under on time-and-material contracts, fixed price contracts, and revenue share contracts. Infinite seeks to secure recurring business from its clients and longstanding relationships on the strength of its service offerings and customer service.

Infinite provides ongoing support to its customers, with customers able to contact the Company’s various local offices over the phone or make more general enquiries via an online contact form hosted on the Company’s website. The Company also provides a range of online resources to clients, such as case studies and technical information.

Additionally, Infinite operates social media accounts with Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn -  as well as operating a blog – through which it is able to interact directly with clients and publish company updates.

Key Activities

Infinite operates as a provider of software consultancy and information technology support services. The Company primarily provides application management outsourcing, remote infrastructure management services, research and development, and intellectual property leveraged solutions and related information technology services to a range of commercial and institutional clients. Infinite principally serves customers across the healthcare, technology and telecommunications, media and publishing, and banking and financial services sectors.

The Company offer mobile messaging and analytics platforms, providing solutions including business technology, mobile messaging, consulting, and product engineering solutions. Infinite serves an international client base, with operations and customers across India, the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Key Partners

Infinite works closely with a broad network of partners across its various international markets. These partners can be organised broadly into the following categories:

  • Supplier and Vendor Partners, comprising suppliers of equipment, tools, and services that are utilised across the enterprise in support of the Company’s core software and information technology services’
  • Technology Partners, comprising software developers, systems integrators, and other technology companies that assist in the development and implementation of the Company’s services, and provide consulting services;
  • Channel and Distribution Partners, comprising third party sales and service agents and local representatives that help to extend the sales and marketing reach of the Company’s in-house sales force; and
  • Strategic and Alliance Partners, comprising various strategically placed companies and organisations with which the Company collaborates on joint projects, including service contracts, and marketing projects.

Infinite has launched a number of partnerships in recent years. The Company notably joined the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives Foundation, which aims to connect leading healthcare IT vendors and professional services firms with other industry bodies. Infinite has also provided services alongside Paladion Networks and Optimum Healthcare IT. Infinite also includes a number of high-profile technology companies – such as Cisco, Oracle, Red Hat, IBM, and SAP – among its partners.

Key Resources

Infinite’s key resources are its proprietary technologies and intellectual properties, its software platforms, its IT and communications infrastructure, its network of sales and administrative offices, its partnerships, and its personnel – in particular its technical staff.

Infinite protects its intellectual properties through various patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property laws. According to its annual report, Infinite was awarded two patents in FY2016 in relation to its suite of messaging solutions and services. Searches of records published by the US Patent and Trademark Office identified no patent applications filed in Infinite’s name. Indian patent records are not searchable by name.

Infinite also owns and or leases a number of physical properties around the world, notably its sales and administrative offices across India, the US, Germany, China, the UK, and Malaysia.

Cost Structure

Infinite’s incurs costs in relation to the development of its technologies and solutions, the procurement of services, the maintenance of its IT and communications infrastructure, the management of its partnerships, the operation of its sales and administrative offices, the implementation of marketing campaigns, and the retention of its personnel.

In FY2016 Infinite recorded total expenses in the amount of INR 19.66 billion (approximately $288.38 million). This included manpower costs – comprising the payment of salaries and employee benefits – totalling INR 17.53 billion, and finance costs totalling INR 11.98 million.

Revenue Streams

Infinite generates revenue through the provision of various software solutions and information technology support services. The Company principally derives its revenue under service and sales contracts, including time-and-material contracts, fixed price contracts, and revenue share contracts.

In FY2016 Infinite generated total revenue for the year in the amount of INR 21.08 billion (approximately $309.48 million), up on the INR 17.37 billion recorded by the Company the previous year.

Our team

Upinder Zutshi,
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

info: Upinder has served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at infinite since joining the Company in 2002. He oversees the Company’s overall strategic direction. Zutshi is an experienced information technology professional, having worked in India’s technology industry for more than 30 years. He began his career at CMC Limited, where he served for seven years, primarily as a business development manager. In 1991 he moved to Eastern Software Systems, where he served as Vice President for four years. Prior to joining Infinite, Zutshi served for more than five years as President and Chief Executive Officer at Velocient Technologies Inc.

Sanjeev Gulati,
Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

info: Sanjeev serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at infinite. He is responsible for leading Infinite’s finance function for India, Europe and the Asia Pacific regions. Gulati additionally serves as the Company’s Compliance Officer, taking responsibility for ensuring that the Company operates in full compliance with all national and international laws and regulations. Gulati is a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is an experienced financial executive, having worked in roles of varying responsibility in the fields of accounting, internal audit, and taxation at several companies in India.

Anurag Lal,
Chief Executive Officer of Infinite Convergence Solutions

info: Anurag has served as Chief Executive Officer at Infinite Convergence Solutions, a unit of Infinite, since joining the Company in 2011. He is responsible for the subsidiary’s strategic direction and operations. Lal has previously held a number of senior executive positions, particularly within the telecommunications sector. From 1990 to 1996 he was Group Manager of International Application Services at Sprint, following which he served as Senior Director of Custom Network Solutions at American Communication Services Inc for more than three years, simultaneously serving as Senior Vice president of Data and Internet Services at e.spire Inc. Lal went on to join BT in 1998, serving as Vice President of Internet and Multimedia at BT Worldwide for two and half years, before taking on a ten-year spell as Chief Business Development and Sales Officer at iPass Inc. Prior to joining Infinite, Lal served briefly as Director of National Broadband Taskforce at the US Federal Communications Commission.
