History

Mike and Bettina Jetter had been working on software designed to simplify the creation and sharing of mind maps for business users. Four years later, Mike and Bettina founded Mindjet to better support their developing software.

Mindjet got a major break in August 2001, when investment group 3i invested approximately $5 million in venture capital. Mindjet used the money to market MindManager in the U.S. and Europe.

Scott Raskin, the former Chief Operating Officer for Telelogic was named CEO in 2006. He would later be a key part in the acquisition of Thinking Space, an Android-based information mapping application, and Cohuman, a social task management service in 2011. The acquisition of Cohuman allowed Mindjet to launch a new, collaborative working service called Mindjet Connect on September 22nd, 2011.

Two years later, Mindjet acquired innovation management company Spigit, and took over their product SpigitEngage, including it into Mindjet’s product range.
