MomentFeed is a marketing platform that focuses on building location-based engagement at the local level between consumers and brands.

Service

MomentFeed combines individual location data with local social networks – including Facebook, Google, Yelp, Instagram, Twitter, and Foursquare – to provide targeted, location-based social media engagement and marketing. It offers digital marketing solutions across four main categories:

  • Search and Discovery, a service for optimizing search results to help consumers find local listings. Google’s algorithm tends to favor local stores over national brands, placing local locations (of national brands or franchises) at a disadvantage. MomentFeed’s optimization service addresses this problem, allowing individual locations of national brands to achieve higher organic search rankings, which enables consumers to more easily find them. For chains with multiple locations, it optimizes each separate location.
  • Social Media, a service for managing and utilizing brands’ local social media channels. MomentFeed’s social media services allow companies to respond to consumers, engage social media users directly, and publish and manage content on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Foursquare, and Google+.
  • Paid Media, a service for localizing national ad campaigns. Content can be personalized according to the community or location it targets.
  • Customer Experience, an analytic service that aggregates customer feedback and ratings across multiple platforms, including Foursquare, Google, Yelp, and Facebook. This service provides a platform that also makes it straightforward for companies to respond directly to customer reviews, individually or in batches.

History

Based in Santa Monica, California, MomentFeed was founded in 2010 by Rob Reed, an author and journalist who started the company in his garage. Seeking to overcome the limitations faced by traditional marketing channels when faced with the rise of social media and mobile technologies, the beta version of the platform launched in January of 2011.

Version 1.1 was released in February, 2011. MomentFeed’s clients include national retailers and chains such as Starbucks, Disney, Burger King, Regal Cinemas, and Jamba Juice. It has partnerships with Google My Business, Apple Maps, Foursquare, and Bing; it is also marketing partners with Facebook and Instagram.
