Careers at Ohmygreen
Mission
Ohmygreen’s mission is to empower people to lead healthy and blissful lives.
History
Ohmygreen was founded in September 2014 by both Jonathan Chang and Michael Heinrich and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California. They are considered a B2B company.
Founder Michael Heinrich found his inspiration during his youth in Berlin, Germany. His Grandmother served hearty home-cooked meals that came from the organic garden she cultivated. She was a medical doctor and would often emphasize to Heinrich how what you put into your body has a direct affect on your health and happiness. Heinrich used this knowledge to start Ohmygreen. He created a data-driven, food-focused wellness platform that started at Stanford & StartX.
The company offers food service for employers, delivering snacks and beverages that are organic and not genetically modified. The food offered is both taste-tested and approved by an in-house nutritionist before customers have access to the food. The company is able to make money simply from the sales of snacks and beverages provided to the customers.
Some of the companies Ohmygreen now services include Apple, IDEO, YCombinator, Twitch, and Microsoft. And when working with companies such as these, it seems pretty easy to do well in today’s marketplace. They are striving to build a great reputation that will last well into the future.
It’s easy to see why Ohmygreen is successful because of the strong management team. CEO and founder Michael Heinrich worked on the management team at such well-known companies as Microsoft, Bain & Co., and Bridgewater Associates. The nutritionist Jenna Kim was a research fellow at Stanford School of Medicine and BeWell Advisor at Stanford. The User experience Chief Jingshu Chen was a former UX/UI designer at Peekabuy and co-founded Tongqu. Food product Chief Marina Heinrich was an editor/ research assistant at Wellesley College.
Ohmygreen focuses its attention on what is estimated to be a $209 billion U.S. snack market. They have several likely competitors but are working to fight the competition by creating a one stop shopping experience while making budgets, stocking the office, and making food delivery effortless for the customers.
The company is focused on redesigning a kitchen in order to meet the overall wellness needs with food and equipment that is curated through taste tests and nutritionist approval. The company agrees that great food benefits help lead to happier, healthier, and more productive employees. Therefore, ohmygreen makes sure you benefit from their doctor designed nutrition system.
