History

In 2010, Signpost was founded by two gentlemen named Stuart Wall and John Buchanan out of Harvard Business School. The company is headquartered in New York City and has offices in both Denver, Colorado and Austin, Texas.

The company was able to raise 30 million dollars in venture funding from companies such as Georgian Partners, Google Ventures, Spark Capital, OpenView Venture Partners, Scout Ventures, as well as a group of angel investors.

The company, former known as Postabon, Inc., is a technology company that develops CRM and marketing automation software for local businesses with the goal of building relationships with new as well as existing customers. During both 2014 and 2015, Signpost was named one of America’s Most Promising Companies by Forbes and was ranked as a "Top Workplace" by The Austin American Statesman and Crain's New York.

Signpost is a company that operates a cloud based digital and marketing platform for both small and medium size businesses. The platform is able to automate various aspects of business marketing regarding social and directory profile management. Signpost also automated customer acquisition and retention as well.

The company grew significantly when it announced the launch of Mia (artificial intelligence) and created a new way to connect with customers. Mia made it possible for the company to automatically collect customer data such as email addresses, phone numbers, and purchase information and then store the information as company records.

Mia then provided the ability to stay in touch with customers through word of mouth, reviews, and repeat business as well as track customer behaviors and update customers’ engagement activity in real time. Mia currently has data on more than 16 million U.S. consumers with more than 6,000 being Signpost customers.

Today Signpost has three offices with over 250 employees. They have also served more than 15,000 merchants to date. Signpost's online presence management focuses on helping local businesses to update, verify, and enhance their business information on both mobile and social listings such as Google+ and Facebook.
