Bedford is a city in Tarrant County, Texas with a population of about 50,000. It is a Suburb of Fort Worth and a constituent of the HEB (Hurst, Euless and Bedford) community of the “Mid-Cities” area. The first modern settlers arrived in Bedford in the mid-19th century.
In the next few decades, many more settlers followed suit. By the 1870s, the land witnessed major settlements by a farming community from Tennessee under the leadership of Weldon Bobo. These new settlers named the land “Bedford” after Bedford County, Tennessee.
