Blaine is a city of about 63,000 people located in Anoka and Ramsey counties in Minnesota. Previously a part of the city of Anoka, Blaine became a separate township in 1877. The earliest European residents of the area were Irish and English settlers. The new township was named “Blaine” in honour of Senator and presidential candidate, James G. Blaine.
