Denton is extremely well stocked with ways to have fun. It is, for example, well known as a music city, and is home to an Art & Jazz festival and a Music festival that both attract well over 300,000 attendants a year.
The heart of the city is Denton square, the historic downtown square. Regenerated in the late 1980’s, it is home to a variety of small shops and restaurants – some of which have been in business since the 1940’s. There are also a number of large-scale malls, and the city is extremely wells served with bars and restaurants – partly due to the large population of students.
The city enjoys typical hot and humid Texas weather and has a variety of outdoor parks and recreations spaces to enjoy.
The local school system is excellent.
