Evansville is a city located in Venderburgh County in the US State of Indiana. The city serves as the county seat, and has a population of around 118,000 people.

A Regional Hub
The city is the third largest in the state overall, and the largest in southern Indiana, making it a regional hub for commerce, culture and medical services.
The city is home to a number of sports and cultural attractions. Historic Bosse Field, built in 1915, hosts baseball games whilst the more modern Ford Center is an indoor sports hub with a capacity of 11,000. It hosts basketball and ice hockey matches, as well as music concerts.
Victory Theater is home to, amongst other productions and companies, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.
The city hosts a number of annual festivals, the largest of which is the West Side Nut Fall Festival. This festival takes place during October, is food focused and draws over 100,000 visitors per year.
There are a number of diverse museums, and the city is also well equipped with over 65 parks, preserves and various maintained outdoor recreational facilities. The largest is the 200-acre Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve.
Shopping, restaurants and bars are abundant and cover the fullest range you would expect in a city this size, with everything from cafes, bars and grills to fine dining.

As a regional hub for transport, commerce, medical services, manufacturing and energy there is an extremely diverse workforce in the city.
A number of corporations and companies are headquartered in the city, including 4 listed on the NYSE – Accuride, Berry Global, Sprigleaf and Vectren. There are over a dozen smaller companies with headquarters here.
As far as manufacturing goes, Toyota operate a large manufacturing plant, as do AK Steel and SABIC – a chemical company. In addition to these big hitters, literally dozens of manufacturers operate in the city, spread across hundreds of thousands of square feet of industrial space.
The local health care system is a huge employer, with several large-scale medical facilities in the city with workforces measured in the thousands.
Education is also a growth industry, with a community college and 2x University’s maintaining a big presence in town, in addition to the local schools boards.
Finally, Evansville is home to vibrant energy sector with many regional energy related facilities related to biofuels, natural gas and nuclear operations.
Healthcare and social services account for 16% of the jobs here, with manufacturing just behind at 15%. Retail, accommodation and Food service contribute 23%, with Professional, Tech Services, Scientific and General Administrative being around 9% of the workforce.
