The historical City of Golden is located in Jefferson County, Colorado. The city gets its name from the substance the town was founded on – Gold. Historically, the city was a mining town which mined Gold found in the Clear Creek and surrounding Front Range mountains. This town had an abundance of natural resources and clay extraction and coal mining industries soon began too. Located at the feet of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, this city offers a beautiful setting with many recreational activities.
