Located Northwest of Atlanta in Cobb County, Smyrna city was incorporated in 1872 and is ranked as one of the fastest growing cities in Georgia. It was named by the Greeks after the Biblical city of Smyrna. It is also fondly referred to as the Jonquil city because of the prevalence of this flower during spring.
