Jobs in Spring Hill, Tennessee, United States
Spring Hill is a city located in the US state of Tennessee. The city lies in both Maury and Williamson counties, and boasts a population of around 34,500 inhabitants.
Spring Hill is located approximately 30 miles to the south of Nashville.
The town has grown rapidly in recent years. It had a population of only around 7,000 in the year 2000, meaning it has more than tripled in population in less than 20 years.
Residents moving out of Nashville looking for a suburban environment have driven part of this, and part has been driven by the expansion of the large GM Factory, the largest single employer in the city.
Some aspects of the city infrastructure have handled this growth well – for example, the local school system boasts a number of excellent rated schools across the entire student age range. The city also has an impressive number of hospitals and clinics.
On the other hand, the road system needs investment, and traffic is often heavy and slow moving.
There are numerous parks and the city is, in general, quiet and residential.

Spring Hill Manufacturing, a large-scale factory owned and operated by General Motors, dominates the local jobs market. There were fears in the early 2000’s that it would close. Instead, it has been expanded in recent years, becoming GM’s largest North American based factory and providing thousands of local jobs.
A full 11% of all jobs are in the manufacturing sector, mainly at the GM Factory, with an additional 9% in Professional, Scientific and Tech related jobs – again largely at the GM plant.
Health and Social care is the largest employing sector, with 14% of jobs. 11% of people work in roles connected to retail and 8% are in Educational related roles.
