Python Developer Jobs

Python is an open-source programming language that is powerful and fast and works well with other programming software. It is used throughout the world to meet a wide range of different requirements in industry, in the services sector, in research and science. The basics are easy to learn, but to get a job as a PYTHON DEVELOPER, it is a good idea to develop one or two specialties and target your job search to them.

What are Working Conditions for Python Developers?

Python developers may be hired by the IT units of large companies or institutions, or they may work as freelance programmers – either to do contract jobs for large companies or to support small companies which cannot afford their own IT units.

For a company or institutional developer:

  • Working conditions and pay scales are more or less the same in any IT unit but the kind of programming required will vary significantly from one to another.
  • Because python is a general-purpose language, it is used in many different ways, depending on the requirements of an employer and its IT unit. These will determine what the developer actually does.

For a freelance developer, choice of projects and working conditions are more flexible but earnings only equal or exceed those of a company job for those who are very good at:

  • Selling their services
  • Communicating with clients
  • Developing and managing projects
  • Business management
What do Python Developers Do?

Python developers are computer programmers. They are responsible for writing server-side web applications. Responsibilities of python developers involve:

Web server management

  • Managing the interchange of data between a web server and the users of the server
  • Developing all server-side logic
  • Ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
  • Integrating front-end elements built by co-workers into applications

Program scripting

  • Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
  • Designing and implements low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications

Big data manipulation

  • Implementing security and data protection protocols
  • Integrating data storage solutions such as databases, key-value stores, binary large object(blob) stores containingimages, audio or other multimedia objects

To become a python developer you must master three levels of understanding:

  • Thorough knowledge of the core language and the difference between Python 2 and Python 3.
  • Thorough knowledge of the commonly used modules, and some familiarity with other modules.
  • Thorough knowledge of the bigger picture of software development with Python and good command of the tools needed for integrating Python into a software development cycle.

Python runs on all conventional operating systems, and is open to databases and protocols of all types. The standard Python library includes 265 modules. In addition the Python Package Index is a repository of software that can be used with Python. You must be able to use the pip package manager efficiently, be able to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one systemand know how to implement the python build process with different databases and other technologies used by the type of company or institution where you want to work. You should also:

  • possess a good technology stack, including at least one Python web framework, e.g. Django; some Object Relational Mapper (ORM) libraries; and several server-side templating languages, e.g., Jinja 2, Mako
  • possess a good understanding of code versioning tools, e.g. Git, Mercurial, SVN, and front-end technologies, e.g., JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3

Specialized educational qualifications are not essential, but if you are self-taught you must demonstrate operational knowledge equivalent to a master’s level degree.
